I'm an active member of the California Land Surveyors Association. I'm also an active member of the American Council of Engineering Companies. I chair the Land Use Committee of the California Association. I currently serve as the Immediate Past President of the ACEC Sierra Chapter.
The Manteca Chamber of Commerce gets a bit of my help with web design, web site maintenance, photography, graphic design and marketing.
In the past I've served as the President of the Central Valley Chapter of the California Land Surveyors Association and as the editor of the California Surveyor Magazine. I also served on the chapter's San Joaquin County Government Liaison Committee. I have served on the state associations GIS Committee and have given several talks at the CLSA Annual Conference.
In the past I've served as a member of the Qualifications Based Selection Committee (at the state association level).
In the past I served as a mentor for the OSGeo Google Summer of Code. I also served as the Board Rep and Administrator for the OSGeo California Chapter. I served as the Editor of the OSGeo Journal.
In the past I served on the California Board of Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists Land Surveyor Technical Advisory Committee.
California Department of Corrections
For several years I served as a volunteer chaplain at the OH Close and Chaderjian Youth Correction Facilities just outside of Stockton, California. In that role I studied the Bible with many young men at the facility and also held a weekly Bible study class on Sunday mornings at the prison.
